A gala event was held on Nov. 6th at Royal Palm Place sponsored
By G.O.A.L.S., Inc. a local non-profit organization that helps
individuals who suffer from spinal cord injuries to Go Out And
Live Successfully. Hosted by The Rustic Cellar Wine Café and
Selected Brands Wine Distributors over four hundred and fifty
people attended the event.
The evening got underway with the Rustic Cellar pouring the first
"A Taste of the Grape!", a toast to Doug Richardson, the founder of
G.O.A.L.S., Inc. The patrons then proceeded to the many wine or
food stations where they enjoyed the fine specialties of the
participating restaurants and were able to choose their “Taste of the
Grape” from over 100 different wines chosen by Selected Brands.
Featured Restaurants were: Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Max’s
Grille, Jake’s Stone Crab, Moquila, Il Marco, Tiramisu, Le Vieux
Paris, Holloway’s Pub, Chops Lobster Bar, Za Zen Sushi Bar, Coal
Mine Pizza, Cena To Go, McCormick and Schmicks, Sapa Sushi
Bar, The Melting Pot, Taverna Kalamata, Tulio’s Italian Fusion
Nick’s Fishmarket of Hawaii and Gigi’s Tavern.
Complimenting the evening was music by Chenzo and Dr. J.
The tables around the bandstand were filled with fans as they
listened to the mellow tones of Dr J’s sax and their favorite tunes
sung by Chenzo.
The evening ended with a silent auction where everyone had the
opportunity to bid on their favorite choice of wine, artwork and
sports memorabilia.
We here at G.O.A.L.S., Inc. thank Royal Palm Place, The Rustic
Cellar, Selected Brands, The Sports Immortal Museum, the
participating Restaurants, and all the private donors who
supported our event. We also thank the many volunteers who
helped with setup, cleanup, and all the little things that made the
event the success that it was. We hope everyone had a great time
and will join us next year at "A Taste of the Grape!".
G.O.A.L.S., Inc. is a not-for-profit organization. Donations and contributions toward purchases at "A Taste of the Grape!" are tax-deductible. Visit www.goalsinc.net for more information about the foundation.
